The aim of this Workcamp is to clean the surrounding after the long snowy winter. Volunteers will prepare the house and the surrounding for the main season and will help out in the hotel (kitchen, rooms). The main tasks of the volunteers are: garden- and forest work, house and kitchen work. During the workcamp there will be a sightseeing trip to Chur.
Accomodation & food:
The volunteers will sleep in dormitories in the house Fontana. The rooms are cosy. The cook from the hotel together with the volunteers will prepare the meals for all participants. Everyone has to help to set the table, cleaning and doing the dishes. There is a common-room to meet each other, a library and internet access.

Passugg-Araschgen is a small village about ten minutes by bus from Chur. The place is surrounded by grasslands, forests and mountains and is situated very idyllic. The close by town Chur is a typical, small Swiss town and the oldest town in Switzerland.

The workcamp in Passugg-Araschgen is an Access 4 All -project and is therefore open for people with any kind of handicap or without handicap and with no age restriction (18). We expect a certain kind of independence. It s helpful to be interested in people with impaired hearing, because the group will be in contact with deaf people.We want to make steps towards the integration of people with any kind of handicaps into the society and to strengthen the social competences. Volunteers will mostly work outside that s why they should bring along warm water proofed clothes and good shoes to work.
The main work is making a hiking trail. Therefore de-bushing has to be done as well as minor ground shifts. In order to prevent flooding it s necessary to build channels as well. Work will be done principally by using shovels and will be accompanied by a professional at all times
Accomodation & food:
A hand full of volunteers will stay together in two rooms of a charming and recently refurbished guest house. The kitchen of the guest house prepares the meals for the volunteers. The accommodation is perfect for real nature lovers who want to spend some time in the moun-tains.
Location & leisure:
Binn, a wild valley is situated in the south of Switzerland close to the Italian boarder From Binn it s less than one hour to reach Brig, a small city with excellent connections to Bern and Geneva. Touristic hot-spots as Zermatt and Interlaken are nearby; but there is way more to see of the beaten track; in between larch forests you will find crystal clear alpine lakes. Also discover the hidden mineral treasures of the Binn valley or simply enjoy the beauty of nature. In their leisure time volunteers can go for a walk in the nearby woods. The area is frequented by mountain-bikers as well as famous for hiking tourists. It s worth spending time in the natural park that surrounds you. On the weekend a two day hike is likely to be the best activity.

The main work will include haying, weeding, preparing wood and cutting the lawn. Interested Volunteers should be physically strong and interested in agricultural and garden work. It is important to know that all the flowers are very sensitive and protected and only experts can deal with those plants. Work is seven hours a day; two days per week are off. - Volunteers will receive a small pocket money, food and lodging.

Its an outside job. The aim of the work is to prepare the area where the festival will take place. As well as minor ground-shifts in order to provide access to the field, de-bushing has to be done. Whilst communal workers work with heavier machinery, volunteers will use saws and scissors to trim and shredder bushes and small trees. The construction of a tribune using natural materials as wooden logs is another task that will be assigned to handy women and craftsmen. Even though there is a variety of work, most of it is manual work that demands certain skills.

All volunteers will stay together in one room of an extensive underground shelter that has been built to evacuate all residents in case of hazard. It s an accommodation containing all facilities; no sunlight though. Lunch is taken along with communal staff that are pleasant to spend time with especially once you ve learnt to communicate with hand, heart and feeds.

Volunteers help to build stone walls and assist whilst minor ground shifts are being done with heavier machinery. As well as helping out in the garden (vegetable and fruit production), work may consist of planting shrubs and other plants as it s done in permaculture practice.

Cimalmotto is a small mountain village situated in the southern alps of Switzerland. 1400 m above sea level and surrounded by mountain-peaks natures impresses in many respects. Beautiful hikes take you to the picturesque village of Bosco Gurin and to Italy just a stone-throw away. Lake Maggiore is about 50 km away. Catching a train from Locarno it s just about an hour to Lugano connected with Milano. Luzern and Zurich can be reached within about 4h too. In their leisure time volunteers can go for a hike in the nearby mountains. This region is famous for hiking tourists. There are many hiking trails close by. It s also possible to visit the surroundings of Locarno on the weekend.
