Promote / develop several skills in the participants that will enable them to create trails that allow the visitation of built heritage. To accomplish this goals participants will engage in several tasks: designing, cleaning and marking trails; cleaning of the surroundings of the watermills; designing a tourist information map in several languages; cleaning of river margins; cutting invasive vegetable species and others, rebuilt corridors, activities related to preparation of autochthones and medicinal plants.

The aim of this workcamp is to help fire victims who have lost all their goods in the fires. For that the volunteers will intervein in public and communitarian infrastructures of the affected villages by painting fountains and chapels as well as reforestation. The volunteers will mostly work together but in specific tasks the group will be divided in smaller groups to work in different places simultaneously. The work period will be from 8.30 until 13.30. Afternoons, evenings, Saturdays and Sundays is reserved to leisure, sports and to contact with the local culture.

The accommodation will be located in a small village named Bolo near Castanheira de Pera. The participants will sleep on the floor in an old school. It will be served 5 meals, 2 in the restaurant (Lunch and dinner).

Excavation objectives:- Continue, through methodological archaeological excavation, to define the outline of the settlement, walls and housing structures.- Initiate works of restoration and conservation with a view to the musealization of the site.Tasks to Perform: During the camp volunteers will work no longer than 6h/day.- Methodological excavation work, with archaeologists accompaniment; Sorting and buoyancy of lands to collect various elements (coals, seeds, bones, etc.) for analysis; Washing and labeling of materials. Volunteers will be accommodated in the association s Youth Center, consisting of Restaurant, Bar, 2 dormitories and 8 bedrooms. Participants will not have to prepare meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) as they are served in the restaurant of the youth center.
Beside this we pretend to provide a different experience to young people as it gives them the oportunity to know new sources of development, a new culture and a practical work while getting to know the history of Portugal and its interior. With recreational and cultural exchanges with local habitants will be provide intercultural learning, foster cultural enrichment through visits in the region (Porto, Lamego, Rgua, Pinhpoundo and Douro valley) and develop leisure and environmental improvement activities

Basic housing with electricity, hot water, shower, WC, kitchen and bedroom (equipped with bunk beds). Lodgment can be in the bedrrom or in a specific place around the building.Meals will be prepared by all the volunteers, taking turns. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided.

The trail is located in the interior nort of Portugal, starts in Peso da Rgua, goes through Lamego and ends in Spoundo Jopoundo de Tarouca, always along the river and with a great natural beauty. This trail crosses the Douro Valley, overlooking the surrounding mountains covered with vineyards and the river that flows at its feet and the Varosa Valley surrounded by the patrimony of the Cister Order.
Requirements:
All participants must be from 18 to 30 years old. Volunteers have to participate in activities concerning the functioning of the Camp, meet schedules, follow the guidance of tutors, assist in cleaning of spaces used, participate in the planned activities, meet colleagues, meet the overnight hours, participate in leisure activities, and respect silence during the resting times.
- Protection of the forests surrounding the village of Lustosa and Lousada (northern Portugal) against forest fires;- Control of pyrophyte alien invasive species;- Management of fuelwood;- Construction of a water point for irrigation / control of possible fires;- Rehabilitation of a degraded system for water transportation;- Restoration of a small riparian forest;- Improvement of local fauna, flora, and landscape;- Encouragement of international exchange and exchange of experience;- Presentation and discussion of the natural and social reality of the regions of origin of the participants;- Promotion of environmentally and socially responsible attitudes and values;- Development of action-training actions focused on individual and collective learning.

Participants will sleep in Lousada Sportsaeuro Center, in shared bedrooms (4, 5 or 9 beds), where they have hot water showers. The organization will provide breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Preparing for reforestation: Working on an ecologically degraded area, we will use techniques for soil and water management to create conditions in which trees can survive. We will start a tree nursery, and start planting local species in a few places where watering is possible.Fire Prevention: We will decrease risk of fire in a young native oak woodland, protecting and watering young trees, cleaning out dead branches, preparing for new plantations, and making signs with information about the reforested areas.Event Support: We will help the association with the Open Day and Pizza Night events that will be happening during the Work Camp, by preparing spaces for the events, making crafts from natural materials (wool, willow, cork, wood) for the reforestation fundraiser, etc
