The work will consist in setting up and running a programme of indoor activities for children of 3-11 y.o. (crafts, sports, language workshops, team building games, dances). The international volunteers will be helping the staff and numerous national volunteers work with Saharawi children (6-11 years old) with different kinds of disabilities (physical, cognitive, mental, sensory, emotional, developmental). This means that most of the kids are not self-sufficient. Daily activities of the international volunteers will include the following: feeding the children (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks), getting them dressed, changing the diapers, showers, cleaning the house, cooking together. But also we need volunteers to come with a lot of energy to play, push wheelchair, go to the beach with the children. The shifts during the day and also night will be very flexible (to be arranged with the campleader and with local volunteers), so flexibility and adaptability are strongly required. English and Spanish will be the main languages of the workcamp but any language skill is welcome Along with English, the main spoken languages usually are: Italian (most of our volunteers are local), Spanish (Western Sahara used to be a Spanish colony before the Moroccan occupation; the leaders that come with the kids are fluent Spanish speakers) and, of course, Hassaniya, the arabic dialect the kids speak. Nevertheless, don t worry, you will manage to understand the kids, some of them speak Italian or understand Spanish and there will be a lot of interprets to help

The international volunteers will be hosted at the primary school in the city centre along with the national volunteers and the children. The school is equipped with: 5 shared bedrooms that will be appropriately separated for girls and boys, and the kids; bathrooms and a shower for each bedroom common bathrooms; dining room; kitchen; common areas: two halls for activities; gardens with games around the building; rooms for the children physical therapy. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided at the canteen by the hosting organization.

YAP project-related motivation form is required. We don t need people with specific curriculum but aware about the topic and really motivated to contribute to the project. Any qualification or previous experience as nurse, physiotherapist or educator etc. is very welcome.
PROJECT: The host association "Aps Yard" was founded in 2001 and supports projects about on different focus areas: anti-racism, sociability, cultures, territories, active citizenship, human rights, reuse and recycle, mutual aid, non-formal education with young people and children. We promote a workcamp in the San Siro district, a multicultural popular block at the center of the main urban transformations of the second biggest Italian city. Our aim is to achieve an exchange between the inhabitants and the international volunteers to create thepossibility of learning experience for both. The frame is the annual summer festival of the neighborhood committee.
Work:
WORK: The international volunteers will help the inhabitants and the local volunteers to realize the popular fest of San Siro. The fest is an event dedicated to improve and celebrate somecharacteristics of our neighborhood: the melting pot who include anti-racism and anti-discrimination feelings, the commitment to the housing right for all, the social work to improve living conditions. You can contribute at the festival in several ways: structures assembly and disassembly, organization of food and beverage stands, set design of the festival, communication and others. The international volunteers will be always side by side with local volunteers with experience in previous editions of the festival.

ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD: Volunteers will be hosted at the "Space of Mutual Aid", a community squat that host a lot of social projects and the co-housing of tens of families from all over the world. Here there is one large apartment (130 square meters) entirely dedicated to the volunteers, without distinction between males and females. There will be hot water in the bath. Wifi is available in public areas of the centre. The food will be prepared by volunteers together and you can also eat vegetarian.

The camp is organized by Cilento Youth Union, an organization which has already organized several workcamps in Cilento, and Vivi.Ci. The workcamp aims to promote a local tradition in a international environment, to connect local people with foreign traditions and to promote this part of the italian countryside. The main purposes of the camp are to learn, to socialize, to understand different cultures through the games and the rediscovery of food and wine tradition.
WORK:
volunteers are expected to deal with local culture by preparing traditional meals and traditional games with the help of organizers and taking part in some activities connected to wine production. Moio della Civitella, indeed, was known for production and export of wine until ‘50s. Moreover, the volunteers will help the organizers to carry out all the tasks related to the organization, promotion and execution of “Re Notte”, the local wine festival occurring during the days of the workcamp: the logistic set up, the pub&restaurant tending, the cleanup and other activities proposed by organizers. After the event, the volunteers will help taking down the structures and cleaning the area where the event took place. The workcamp will take place from 14th to 21th August, for 6 to 7 hours per day. 15th August will be a no working day: so, we will spend the day visiting the local archeological site and we will spend the rest of the day with leisure activities. All details of the scheduled activities will be provided in the upcoming future.
ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD:
the accommodation will be a house in the center of the village, where volunteers and coordinator will stay all together. Vegetarian menu will be available on request.
LEISURE:
15th August will be a no working day: so, we will spend the day visiting the local archeological site and we will spend the rest of the day with leisure activities. We will also have a photo contest, so the volunteers should take with them a camera or a smartphone, to take photo of the camp and, at the end, we will declare the winner! All details of the scheduled activities will be provided in the upcoming future.

Moio della Civitella is a small village in the Cilento National Park, situated in Campania, close to the Amalfi Coast and Naples. It is famous for its archeological site and for the international street artist festival.

open minded, positive attitude, ready to interact with other people of different cultural background, willing to share own experiences, flexible to live in simple living conditions, flexible to eat local food. We suggest the volunteers to bring with them beach equipping, comfortable wearing and something to put on for the eventually colder evenings.
