Project: During the first week, volunteers will be involved in cleaning a pathway in Malegno, a village that lies at the foot of the valley. During the second week they will take part in the maintenance of Giovettos Natural Reserve in Borno (1000 m above the sea level). During the workcamp, a group of local young people will be supervising the volunteers.
Work:
The volunteers will work on the renovation of the pathway as well as on the conservation of the rural landscape.
Location:
Malegno and Borno are two small villages located in the middle of Valcamonica (Brescia district, Lombardia region), an ancient valley surrounded by beautiful mountains.The site has one of the world's greatest collections of prehistoric rock engravings and it is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Accommodation:
During the first week the volunteers will be hosted by local families with collective meals in a well-provided structure. During the second week, they will be accommodated in a summer house.

Project: The Province of Rieti is located in the north-west of Lazio Region, bordered by the ancient river Tiber and by central Apennines. The landscape includes soft hills and vineyards, fertile valleys and beautiful peaks of Mediterranean coasts. The area is characterized by a high level of biodiversity (majestic beech-wood trees, maples, chestnuts and century-old oaks) as well as different species of flowers such as wild orchids, violets and narcissus. There are also some rare species of fauna: wolf, wildcat, golden eagle and goshawk. The project will consist of preserving the natural reserve by several environmental tasks amongst which the creation of an Organic Eco-nursery.
Work:
The volunteers will carry out practical environmental tasks that may include: the creation of an organic eco-nursery in the botanical reserve at the top of the mountain Terminillo, renovating footpaths, creating picnic areas and info points, collaborating in the environmental maintenance of the area of the lake Salto, including the protection of its shores.
Location:
The project takes place in two main environmental areas: the Terminillo Mountain, the highest massif peak of the region and the area around the lake Salto where the natural reserve extends across.
Accommodation:
The volunteers will be hosted in a youth hostel provided by Legambiente.
