Work:
Volunteers will be welcomed in a big loving family by the organisers and their families. They will be involved at every step of the making of the festival: from setting up stage areas, carrying stuff and cleaning to selling food and helping the musicians. They will also have a chance to perform themselves.
Accomodation & food:
Volunteers will be hosted in an house in the center of Brienza composed by two bedrooms (1for man and 1 for women); 2 bathrooms and a kitchen. They will be cooking for themselves every day, except for the festival days when they will have a voucher to eat at the food stand. Beds will be provided, but it is recommended to have a sleeping bag.
Location & leisure:
Brienza is a small village with a big heart. Surrounded by mountains and crossed by two rivers, it's a real gem, a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. The 12th century castle, where the festival takes place, with dozens of abandoned houses, offering a breathtaking view on the town and the mountains. The mayor's house and its churches are interesting places to visit, as well. Basilicata region is full of beautiful places that you'll remember forever. Maratea, with its serene beaches; Matera (UNESCO site and European capital of Culture of 2019), chosen by Pasolini, Gibson and many others for their movies; Pollino natural park, and a lot of other places, only a couple of hours away from Brienza.
International volunteers will make up a bigger team of volunteers helping SET UP and run the festival. Before the beginning of the festival the group of the international volunteers will help to construct the marquees, decorate the area, put up signage etc. During the festival the volunteers will help maintaining site infrastructure e.g. cleaning the area and waste sorting (for later recycling), helping at food stands and restaurants to prepare, sell and serve the food, clean the kitchen and other spaces, arrange the area for the performances, etc. However the volunteers may be asked to do other jobs according to the festival needs. The international volunteers will work for around 7/8 hours per day. The work will be done in pairs or small groups in different shifts (to be arranged together with the campleader) in the morning, afternoon and mostly late in the evening. During the free time the volunteers will have the opportunity to join concerts, performances, DJ-sets, etc. in the festival area. Please note that flexibility and adaptability are required, and there might be some physically demanding work from time to time (under the sun or rain sometimes). Be ready to work in a big team of national volunteers and hopefully become wonderful members of this great family International volunteers will have 2 free days, to be arranged with the festival organizers.

Volunteers will be hosted in a local social centre, called Magazzino 47 , a self-managed place for youth where social, cultural, and political activities are organized. For the whole duration of the festival the social centre is closed for visitors and reserved for the accommodation of the volunteers. There are several toilets and a shower. The accommodation is not well-connected with the festival area by public transport so different pick up shifts will be arranged with the organisers to go to work and to come back to the accommodation. Sleeping bags, goodwill and open-mindedness are required.

It is situated at the foot of the Alps, a few kilometres from the lakes Garda and Iseo. The monumental archaeological area of the Roman forum and the monastic complex of San Salvatore-Santa Giulia have become a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of a group of seven inscribed as Longobards in Italy, Places of Power.

YAP project-related motivation form is required. Volunteers must be motivated to work hard to make the festival a success, be enthusiastic and open-minded.

WORK: The volunteers will support the local community in different works, related with the preparation of Middle Age Roccantica Fest: - cleaning of the village; - organizing places - setting the scenarios - organizing tailoring - reception of the public - playing in the shows - interacting with the local community - etc...

ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD: Volunteers will sleep in the gym with mattresses and sleeping bags. There are showers and toilets in the gym. Regarding the meals, they will be prepared with local and organic food respecting its seasonality and sustainability. Cooperative organization of meals and cleaning.
Location & leisure:
LEISURE AND LOCATION: Leisure: during their free time, volunteers could make some excursions (hiking, trekking, orienteering, night under the stars) ñ some workshops (cheese making, soap making, handmade pasta, bread and pizza etc...) - practice sports (swimming pool, climbing, low ropes, yoga) - and milking with local farmers to learn to work with mules. IMPORTANT: - Won't be possible to visit Rome - The free time activity will be organized by the leads to allow participants to explore the village and surroundings.

Roccantica(RI) Lazio, Central Italy. Approximately 40 kilometers northeast of Rome, the area called Sabina, where Roccantica is located, is part of the Apennine chain. The landscape is made of hills covered with olives, which rise towards steeper mountains, with extensive oak and beech and small medieval villages, castles and monasteries. It is a landscape that has remained substantially unchanged over time and little affected by modern building development. Roccantica is located on the slopes of "Pizzuto" mountain at 454 meters a.s.l.
Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS: To be ready to walk and go for trekking, here the mountains are the most important natural heritage. To Come with proper equipments (trekking shoes, working clothes, etc...). To be ready to be in small village, no shops. To be open minded. To be ready to act in the middle age fest and show organized by the local community. To be ready to cooperate in any kind of preparation work ( cleaning, painting, cooking, serving meals and drinks, etc...) To be ready to live a group experience base on life in common, exchange, cooperation, teamwork. To live in an isolated village. To do an effort of communication, nobody in the village speaks English. A project related motivation letter is needed.

WORK: The volunteers will support the local group in different renovation and environmental activities and to organize the festival of the mountain. Volunteers will be involved in the following tasks: in specific to work around the path of the refuge to restore and paint the signal, and to help and support the organization of the Festival of the Mountain that will place on the area of the refuge.
