The farm is located in Quattordio. In the farm there is table tennis, free wi-fi, guitar, a music keyboard. There are bicycles for the volunteers and cycle path available in the town for a ride among towers, castles, vineyards. At 300 meters far from the farm there is the public pool as well and tennis fields. By train is possible to go to Genova and to reach the sea in about two hours. Quattordio is not so far from Liguria, Tuscany and Milan.

PROJECT: Volunteers will be asked mostly to take care of pathways, which are very culturally important in the area because each of them leads to old mills and ethnographic sites. Castello dell'Acqua is a very small country area. The population is very traditional and loves seeing people taking care of their land. LEGAMBIENTE LOCAL GROUP: Legambiente Lecco is made up of young and dinamic people, mostly under 30. The main activity of this Legambiente group is the management of an hostel; moreover, it has campaigned against food waste and for the correct waste management. Predisposition to live, walk and work in the mountains.
The workcamp's purpose is to support the main activities of the National Park Foreste Casentinesi, offering to the volunteers an authentic experience of its daily life, with a strong focus on the ancient forests included in Unesco World Heritage site. The camp objectives are: monitoring, cleaning and restoring the trekking paths and danger species habitats inside the Unesco heritage buffer zone; involving volunteers in small samples of fauna and flora monitoring inside it; checking the perimeter of the non-access integral reserve zone; connecting volunteers to local communities and tourists for increasing the awereness about the values and natural history protected by the Unesco heritage site. The team of volunteers will consist of 6 national and 6 international participants. The detailed program will be communicated on the day of arrival, however it may be changed according to the meteorological conditions and to the organisational needs. You should have adaptation spirit and be ready to work outdoor with rigorous conditions of mountain environment. Please, consider that you'll have to walk a lot during the day, from the accommodation in the morning and back in the evening! The volunteers will get a short on arrival training and educational supervision during the workcamp. You will constantly be in touch with the Park's employees and trainees in order to achieve a deeper understanding of activities and the difficulties they face during their work. Volunteers must have with them an individual mountain equipment for work: trekking shoes, backpack, windbreaker and raincoat, hat, working gloves, flashlight (preferably frontal), water bottle.
Accomodation & food:
Volunteers will be hosted in the mountain shelters at the Park's disposal and particularly in Corniolo (FC) and in Montanino (AR) guesthouses, structured into shared rooms with common bathrooms. Depending on the activities, weather and activities, some nights may be spent in other refuges or tents. Within all the lodgings, a fully equipped kitchen is available. Breakfast, packed lunch and dinners will be prepared by the volunteers themselves in the accommodation (food is provided by the hosting organisation). The volunteers will cook and clean as a team. You must bring a sleeping bag, a mattress pad and a pillowcase. Please make sure you are comfortable with basic living conditions!
Location & leisure:
Foreste Casentinesi National Park - Pratovecchio (AR). The workcamp will take place in a quite isolated area, but it may be possible to visit big cities during your free days (both Arezzo and Florence are 50km far). Nevertheless you will have a great opportunity to swim in a mountain river, make sightseeing around breathtaking landscapes, enjoy ancient paths and local gastronomic traditions of small mountain villages. Please, bring with you typical games, recipes, musical instruments from your country.
Requirements:
YAP project-related motivation form is required. This workcamp is recommended for those who love nature, enjoy working outdoors, taking care of the environment and walking a lot. A specific scientific preparation is not required but for everyone s security and the environment s protection the volunteers are asked to follow accurately the instructions of the staff and organisers. PROJECT:
Participants will be involved in the care and maintenance of the "Environment and Legality" observatory of the Vesuvius National Park (VNP), managed by Legambiente local group. 4 community gardens, a remembrance and civil commitment park, 2 indoor classrooms for children and young people. Finally, at the headquarters of Legambiente, they will participate in moments of exchange and social confrontation with the local guys and / or with other people engaged in the defense of common goods with other associations.
LEGAMBIENTE LOCAL GROUP:
The local group Legambiente Ottaviano "MimmoBeneventano" began its activity of denunciation of the abuses of that area in the early 80s as a local association, and joined Legambiente in 1989. In recent years the local group has linked its name to important initiative to fight illegality in the territory of Vesuvius, Herculaneum and Terzigno, located in the National Park, such as hydrogeological instability, aquifers and wells' pollution, forest fires, illegal building and so on; sometimes denouncing omissions, indifference and inefficiency of local administration. Moreover, Legambiente is in charge of excursions in the Vesuvius National Park, environmental education, "environment and legality", help desk, volunteer workcamp and civil protection.
LOCATION AND LEISURE:
Ottaviano is located in the Vesuvius National Park, 22 km from Naples city center. The park was established in June 1995 and covers an area of around 135 square kilometers in the Province of Naples. Mount Somma Itiscentered on the activevolcano and itsmostancient (nowinactive) crater. Ithouses 612 vegetablespecies and 227 wildlifeones. In this landscapes it's possible to walk in mountain paths, manychurches, park headquarters. Possible visits: Pompeii, Naples, Vesuvius.
WORK:
The volunteers will be engaged in the care and maintenance of the confiscated property and trails. Moreover, volunteers will be involved in other social activities for awareness about legality and biodiversity carried on by the local group.
STUDY PART:
The volunteers will be engaged in training activities in the afternoon: they will meet the members of the association, relatives of victims of crime, members of other associations with the aim to explain the link between the territory always exposed to lawlessness and the fight for the exploitation of the beauties landscape.
ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD:
Confiscated property. They will eat Italian and, especially, Neapolitant ypical food, known all over the world as the cornerstone of Mediterranean diet.

The club is named after the Romano Pascutto important dialect poet and writer born in S. Stino di Livenza. Later, after the death of the founder, the members decided to assign to the club the surname of Geretto.
