LOCATION: Stella Cilento is a town and comune in the province of Salerno, in Campania, region of south-western Italy. It's located in the middle of Cilento, the subregion which is home of the Mediterranean Diet and rich in biodiversity. Its name means Star of Cilento in the Italian language. It counts the hamlets of Amalafede, Droro, Guarrazzano and San Giovanni. Stella, named after the neighbouring mountain, Mount of the Stella, which represents one of the oldest settlements in Cilento, preserving, on its top, ancient ruins and a Sanctuary dedicated to the Virgin. It's situated in the hills, but not far from the Cilento coast… so don't forget to bring your swimming suit! With only 700 inhabitants and its breath-taking panoramas, it is very exotic and unusual place to visit. The area is rural and inner, far from urban centers, but people are very hospitable and always ready for conversation… in a very nice dialect! But once you are here you can't miss a great cappuccino at Bar of Park, where the bar-owner will wish you "buon giorno"... definitely a jump into traditions and folklore! The closest airports are Napoli, Amalfi Coast/Salerno and Roma, so you can spend a couple of extra days visiting this beautiful italian city out of the project dates.
