As the last years the house was left empty, we will put all our energy in cleaning and tidying up the house and the surrounding property in the first week.On the weekend after our first week, the people of Ganikow will have a village fair, celebrating hundred years of their fire department. This event is important for the identity of the village and we will use these days to invite the community also to our house, presenting the idea of Open Houses Network and international youth exchange all over the world. For this day we will prepare informations and a small programm of presentations and music as well as activities and different dishes and drinks from your countries. As the group concentrates on the village fair, it will not be possible to have a further trip on this weekend. You can use the last weekend and the time after the camp to visit other places. We will be there to help you with informations and bookings.In the second week the volunteers will do some renovation works inside the house. Because the camp will be the first group at the house and they will prepare it as accomodation house for other youth groups in the future there need to be done several works, like painting, repairing furniture, decorating and having an eye on the equipment of the house. During the whole camp another task will be, to look after the garden and the surrounding area. Volunteers will mow the lawn, build a fence and putt up a fireplace.Notes: What to bring: working gloves and strong shoes, appropriate clothes, sleeping bag.

There are 2-, 3- and 4-bedrooms in the house with warm showers and toilettes inside.FOODThe meals will be prepared together as they are part of the community life, what means that everybody will be responsible for the meal at least once during its stay. So it would be very nice if you could bring typical recipes from home in order to introduce each other to the preparation of food from all over the world.

Gantikow Manor is situated 100 kilometers north of Berlin. The house is surrounded by a sleepy village with a small church and attractive countryside. The Manor is a picturing example of modification in the late 19th century, by usuing traditional handcraft styles. The facade of the building is decorated with unique modern fresco-paintings. After the second World War, the house was first used as a refugee hostel and after the village community used the house as municipal center, hosting the community office, the local store, the school, the kindergarten, the doctors room, a kitchen of the agricultural production company and several apartments. With its many rooms, the great building is perfect to be used as accomodation house.Around the manor-house, in the beautiful garden, with its old trees, there is much space for outside activities and leisure time. A small lake is situated nearby the old building, where it is possible to go swimming. And also the surrounding area with its many lakes and unique small towns invites for trips. The idea is it to get young people actively involved with culture.During the first week participants work will have its focus on the Midsummer-Remise (18.06.2011) i preparing the building for the festival, helping to realize the event and follow up work. The Mittsommer-Remise is a festival to promote the manors in the region with music, special regional food and other cultural programm. The volunteers will make also help out in local inns and to put up direction signs. On the evening of the event the ticketing has to be done and informations have to be prepared. The second and third week the participants will work in the manor, especially in the nice garden around it. They will help out with the necessary tasks that have to be done i like gardening or maybe painting. At the end of the third week a garden-festival will lighten up this dreamy place. Part of the work of the participants will be also the decoration for this 3-day-event and preparation of the cultural presentations.The exact tasks that will be undertaken will vary and volunteers are expected to be flexible in the work they do and be prepared to participate in all of the tasks fully.

The volunteers will stay in the manor Vogelsang in an apartment, situated in the stables of the manor.Food is already included but the volunteers will be responsible for the cooking.

It is located in the heart of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, which is the north-eastern part of Germany.Since 2010 the building has a new owner, who tries his best to renovate the location in a neocothic style. The OSTRALE is an exhibition of contemporary art. It has been running for 5 years now and is becoming one of the most important art exhibitions in Germany. You will work as a supervisor in various rooms of the exhibition. Please be prepared for visitors questions. Don t worry; you will get an introduction of the exhibition in the beginning. Another task will be working in the entrance area of the OSTRALE at the cash desk.

Nuertingen is one of four cities named as the most active cities in Germany through the Mission Olympic competition. From the 15th through the 17th of July, trendy sports such as free boarding and speedminton will be presented to the large audience. Your team will be supporting and running the festival; more information can be found at www.nuertingen.de. After a short break your team will start the second phase of camp, where you will improve the materials in a local day care center to help keep the children from injuring themselves.
Note:
Before and after the festival you will be working more than 5 hours a day, but therefore have a break before starting the project in the day care center.

You will be staying in an apartment at the Jugendzentrum am Bahnhof (www.jab-nuertingen.de). Meals will be prepared as a group.
Leisure:
Nuertingen has about 40,000 residents and lies in the Neckertal region (www.nuertingen.de). Your group can go through the pretty landscape, go to lakes or along the river. You also can go for a swim, climb, hike, or canoe when you aren't discovering nearby cities such as Tuebingen or Stuttgart, which offers museums, shopping, a planetarium, theater, and more www.stuttgart.de.

After the festival you will help to remove all decoration and clean up the area. During the last five days the group will explore Dresden and its surrounding areas.

Are you a nature lover? Then you are in the right place Here you will be spending the next three weeks living and working in the forest. You will help with various nature protection projects, such as caring for plants in the forest, building and repairing fences, and caring for biotopes. As a final project, your team is needed to help prepare a large festival, which you can enrich with music, theater, and art. Each idea will be supported to the extent possible, so let your creative side shine Part of these preparations includes a fun program for the local children. The festival will take place on August 7, 2011.

You will be staying in a new, modern, and furnished Freizeitheim, located in the middle of the forest. Some meals will be provided, but dinner will be prepared as a group.
Leisure:
You will be living in the middle of the forest, where you can spend your evenings grilling and sitting around the bonfire. A minibus will be provided so that you can better get to know the area; this will also make trips along the Rhine, to Koblenz, Mainz, Frankfurt possible.
