This work camp is for nature lovers as the work will be mainly outdoors. The volunteers will help to renovate historic buildings at Gut Friederikenhof. Gut Friederickenhof is located directly at the east coast of north Germany (between Kiel and Lübeck). Together with you we would like to prepare the walls for future. Our aim is that these about 100 years old buildings stay for another century.

International volunteers are invited to help and improve the grounds of the centre. Tasks are likely to include painting, gardening, general maintenance and cleaning. There may also be the opportunity of different creative tasks. Volunteers should be prepared to be flexible and take part in any environmental and renovation work that will support the KiEZ Frauensee. Please be aware that you will not work with children!
Accomodation & food:
Volunteers will sleep in dormitory accommodation in separate male/female rooms with bunk-beds. All that you will need is there: showers, bed linen, etc. A washing machine and internet access will be available only during the office hours of the reception.

You will have your meal in the centre. The catering is organised strictly, because there are different groups of children accommodated at the same time. Be aware that the food offered is designed with children in mind.
Do you want to take part in a super lively conservation workcamp? Then you're in the right place! Sauerland, and Winterberg in particular, is a popular winter skiing destination in Germany. But the region has a lot to offer during the summer as well. Together with several park rangers and volunteers from the museum gardens, you will be completing various activities in order to protect the climate and the environment: you will be planting small larches and fir trees as well as protecting shrubs from being damaged by other wildlife. You will free up streams and maintain biotopes. Your help is needed in Hallenberg with the construction of an insect hotel as part of the expansion of the NaturGarten at the Nature Park School. You will be mowing a wild meadow in Medebach and doing maintenance work on the geotopes along the trail in Rothaarsteig. You will also be helping to set up racks and signage along the trails and clearing shrubbery from the paths. In the museum gardens, we will be creating both a village garden and a school garden, so here there will be many activities for you to help with: creating garden paths and raised beds, building a garden shed and a bee hotel, planting seeds, as well as restoring a natural stone wall. There is an additional registration fee of 50€ for participants who are not from Germany.

Winterberg has a small old town with timbered houses, pubs and cafes. If you're in the mood for some action, you could go water-skiing or stand-up paddeling on the Hillenbach lake. Besides this, there are indoor and outdoor swimming pools in Winterberg and Hallenberg, as well as minigolf, bowling and hiking.

Some of the work in this camp could be physically demanding.
Volunteers are invited to join our campaigns and activities for promoting peace during the time of the workcamp. You will help us through your participation and through some manual and artistic work: In Mutlangen we will have promoting actions for a peaceful world in the Rems garden show. We will have a peace bicycle ride 40 km along the river Rems. And together we will design and create an artistic installation for the so called peace meadow in Buechel and support the campaign against the remaining nuclear weapons. We believe that campaigns for nuclear disarmament and nonviolence conflict resolution are messages worth to be spread in the media. We invite you to learn from best examples in peace building and to help us to share these examples in social media as messages of peace. If possible you can translate them into your language. Such skills are particularly welcome!
Study part:
Volunteers will receive information about nuclear weapons, ongoing nuclear armament programs and efforts of disarmament and reconciliation. We will share experiences about different forms of action for peace. As there will be contacts to German native speakers, workcamp is good possibility to improve your German language skills.

We sleep in tents. In Mutlangen in the garden of the Pressehütte. In Büchel in a peace camp on a field beside the military airfield. You will need to bring sleeping pad and sleeping bag. Vegetarian food will be prepared together.

Volunteers can visit attractions in the Swabian Jura and the Eifel.

Main work will be in the forest, as maintenance of young stands, field mapping of new trees, planting of rare trees, searching and marking of habitat trees, waters care. Participants will also be doing various manual works to prepare the area around the house of the nature-friends for leisure activities of groups coming from the city. Time of work will be 5-6 hours daily, excluding Saturday and Sunday.
Accomodation & food:
Participants will live in a house with several-bed-rooms, kitchen, bathroom, showers. Cooking, cleaning, shopping etc. will be done by the group itself. Like in each workcamp, accommodation, food and travel-costs for excursions are free as well as materials/copies needed for the lectures.

Marburg is a historical and picturesque old university town, 100 km north of Frankfurt/Main. It has 82.000 inhabitants, including 25.000 students. The camp is located approx. 2 km away from the city centre.
Requirements:
As the language course is not for absolute beginners, participants must be able already to communicate in German, at least on a level which ensures simple communication (A2). Participants also must be willing to communicate with each other during the camp in German and not in English or in their own mother tongue for the whole time, not only during the lectures. This is one important part of the concept. Because of the language-course there is an extra-fee of 160,00 EUR to be paid upon arrival. A certificate for participating in the language-course will be given at the end of the camp.

Peenemuende is located in the northern part of the island usedom. between 1936 and 1989 the region was restricted (for army use only), therefore the nature in the surroundings has developed undisturbed. looking back in history of peenemuende participated in the development of the v-rockets and today is a memorial as well as a technical historical information centre reminding us of it.

The main works will be done in the wood. The volunteers will do various environmental works as well as renovation and construction works on the island and in the forests around the island. Possible tasks are removing bushes and invasive small tree species, collecting rubbish and wood, repairing works and so on. Volunteers should be prepared to be flexible and take part in any work that will support the foresters.
Accomodation & food:
Your accommodation will be very basic. You will sleep in three large tents on camp beds. The infrastructure on the island is very basic without electricity and warm water, not even a warm shower. There is no heating in the tents and on the island you have to use compost toilets. The accommodation is quite isolated so volunteers should come with ideas about how to entertain themselves in the evenings! The foresters of the project have built a nice and comfortable block house where the group will meet and eat. A small kitchen is available and food can be cooked on a gas hob cooker. There is also a fridge in the kitchen, so do not worry about the food. Please bring recipes and spices / special ingredients from your country for your turn to cook.
Location & leisure:
The workcamp is situated 25 km north of Berlin in a landscape consisting of woods and surrounded by several lakes. Volunteers can go swimming in one of the lakes. There are lots of opportunities for outdoor sport activities like soccer, table-tennis and volleyball.Please be prepared not to be able to visit Berlin very often. This is a camp for Nature Lovers!!!!!!
