The AFFE (local organisation for a film festival for children) runs every year the festival “Plein la Bobine” for children from 3 to 12 years old with the aim to develop programs of visual education in connection with cinema. Works :
You will fully participate in the setting up of the festival - creation, installation of the scenery, the exhibitions, the equipment, preparation of badges, posters, signposting. One part of your work will be linked to the young public : welcome, seating, etc.
Activities :
Once there the leaders will propose you several activities, especially the first week, the second is totally dedicated to the festival. But you can bring your own ideas, be imaginative! We expect you to participate in the group activities that are going to be chosen as a group. Have fun!
Location :
You will be accomodated in the La Bourboule spa town (at an altitude of 852 metres), in the middle of the Natural Park of the Auvergne Volcanoes. La Bourboule is located nearby the banks of the Dordogne River crossed by a dozen of bridges and has a splendid wooden park. You will be accomodated close from hiking paths and you will enjoy the activities organized by the municipality for the spa users. In a leisure center with facilities and a kitchen. There will be mattresses for the volunteers but bring your sleeping bag !
Special Requirements :
Attention! French/ English speaking camp, you will be in contact with French public ! The life in a festival is often hectic and days could be long. This workcamp is different from the others, you have to know how to react facing different situations. You should speak some French because you will be in contact with the public.
You will arrive few days before the festival in order to meet the local team and to get a first impression of your new environment. During the event, you will be in charge of welcoming the public, tending a soft drinks stand and helping people with different activities such as a zip wire, trampoline and inflatable attractions. At last, you will help take down the structures at the end of the festival. This work camp needs a great deal of commitment on behalf of the volunteers as the festival takes place during ten days. You will be accompanied by two camp leaders throughout your stay.
Accomodation & food:
You will be accommodated in the Pierre Robin stadium, which is a 5 minutes walk from the festival and 10 minutes from the town Centre. You will sleep in two-person tents and group life will take place in a marquee. A kitchen, changing rooms, showers and indoor toilets are available on the stadium premises. The stadium will be entirely reserved for the workcamp and closed to the public. You will participate to the preparation of meals. You will be able to have your own barbecues and invite young people from Riom to spend time with you! The people from Riom will lend you bikes for getting around the town.
Location & leisure:
Riom, an access point for Auvergne's volcanoes, is a close-knit community and a nice place to live in. Located only 7 minutes away by train from the region's capital, Clermont-Ferrand, Riom is a town that is brought to life by the many activities that are available during the summer: concerts, street shows, swimming in lakes and swimming pools, high-ropes challenge, hiking etc. Riom is a lively town that will make you love the Auvergne region! Requirements:
Please bring good shoes, working clothes and your swimsuit. As the nights can be quite cold, remember also to bring warm clothes and a sleeping bag. You can also bring recipes from your home country, musical instruments and games. You will get around Riom on foot, by bike and by minibus. Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues happen on the project, volunteers will have to pay for it, and then be reimbursed once back in their home country.

The workcamp of July will consist in the organization of animations in the district with the local kids and inhabitants. It will allow the valorization of their artistic and cultural abilities.This workcamp will enable the youth of Les Sablons to take part in free activities organized in the heart of their neighborhood and to become aware of intercultural meetings and international commitment. A particular attention will be paid to the participation of the residents, local organisations and the youth in the creation of activities to develop local events.

You will be sharing collective accommodation in 2 flats in the neighborhood, with basic living conditions. There will be rooms of 4 or 5 people with mattresses provided by Concordia. The group will be sharing the cleaning chores and preparing meals together. The budget will be allocated to the group leader and you will participate in the preparation of meals with good products from the market and local producers. Bring your sleeping-bag with you.

Le Mans (143.000 inhabitants) is located in the West of France. It is the administrative center of the Sarthe county, in the Pays de La Loire region (50 min from Paris, and 1h30 from Nantes by train). You will have the time to discover the city. Le Mans is a beautiful art and history city, it is the third one of the Pays de la Loire region when it comes to culture and tourism. The old city center is surrounded by Roman walls and the most recent renovation works organized to preserve the oldest parts of Le Mans have helped to enhance its local heritage. Two rivers cross the city which has been named one of France greenest cities. There we can find various parks and gardens, in addition to the two big forests bordering the city. During summer, many festivals and events are organized, such as "La Nuit des Chimères" which highlights the historical heritage of the town. Plunge into the World Cultures! You will take part in the organisation of the 43th edition of the festival Les Cultures du Monde during 10 days around 400 musicians and dancers from all over the world will share their performances in a multicultural context. The National Association Cultures et Traditions is the organiser of the festival and attracts every year a large number of local volunteers before (involved in the preparation of the project) and during the 10 days of the festival. They will welcome you and be your guide. This workcamp is a great opportunity for you to meet new peoples and new cultures. Work:
You will be fully involved in the organisation of the festival � Cultures du Monde � (from 22th to 31th of July) creation and installation of decorations, putting up stands and stages, working at bars and catering, welcoming the public, tidying up and cleaning the festival sites. You will arrive a week before the beginning of the festival in order to familiarize yourself to the site, to meet the numerous local volunteers, and to help with the preparation of this festival. Your ideas and experiences are of course always welcome. Caution, during 3 weeks, you have to be available and adapt yourself to possible updates of the festival. Long days full of events !

You will sleep in tents nearby the House of Folklore (which hosts the national association Cultures and Traditions and Youth Hostel). During the 10 days of the festival, meals will be taken in a school in Gannat. You will cook by yourself during the rest of the workcamp. Would you like to participate in the renovation of a medieval castle of a small French village ? The castle of Montaigu-le-Blin needs you to find back the grandness of its past ! Since 2002, workcamps are taking place every summer and work for the conservation of this castle � which has been listed Historical Monument. Thanks to your contribution, we can stop the damages caused by the climate and the vegetation. The castle may be open to the public and guided tours and animations may be offered to visitors.
