You will participate on a large-scale project. Located in the heights of the hamlet, five cottages have been abandoned and are awaiting new inhabitants. Since 2018, work has been put into place on these cottages to re-create sustainable housing. Your mission is to restore the interior of these cottages. With the help of a technical supervisor, you will discover several different types of work: sanding, evacuation and recycling of rubble, interior decoration, and more.
Accomodation & food:
You will stay in tents in 2 or 3 places on the site of "l'Aurore" which is found 300 meters from the center of the hamlet. A cottage for cooking, a sanitary block with water and toilets, as well as a beautiful outdoor space for eating meals together around a campfire. Together, you will cook and prepare menus together using local products and participate in the organization of the camp: cooking, washing dishes, amenities, cleaning, campfires, and more.

You will be able participate in the very active village life during the summer with pizza nights, barbecues, dances, themed parties, international meals, sport activities, hiking, swimming etc. Enjoy locals events including festivals, the Provençal markets, and visiting the Buech region. Together with the lively staff, you will work together in the community life (cooking, washing dishes, organizing the camp, etc.)
Reconstruction of a dry stone wall: you will learn, with our professional technical supervisor, the traditional technique of building walls without any binders. You will start with a one day training session in stone-cutting. Other tasks, such as painting and building outdoor amenities are planned.

You will be hosted at the local campsite close to the centre. You will sleep in shared tents and have access to all the campsite services such as the swimming pool, volleyball area, and "pétanque" field. You will prepare your own meals in groups every day.

Location: Montricoux, 30 km from Montauban and 80 km from Toulouse. The village is only a few kilometers away from Saint-antonin-noble-val. Leisure activities : This project aims to encourage intercultural exchanges between international and local volunteers. In this frame, there will be organised activities with youth centres and local organisation. Close to the Aveyron gorges, you will also have the opportunity to take advantage of the surrounding nature by going canoeing, hiking, or swimming.
You will transform two old telephone booths into book cabins: painting them from the outside, deciding how to organize them inside, installing shelves, making painting and decorations. You can also think about the modification of the exterior parts of the cabins. Along with a technical leader, you will learn basic carpentry skills and how to handle tools.

You will be accommodated in a municipal guest-house in the center of the village, which will be reserved only for you. There will be separate rooms for girls and boys and an area for community life, including kitchen and a lounge corner. A yard will be at your disposal, so you may have meals outdoors. The group will be sharing the cleaning chores and preparing meals together. The budget will be allocated to the group leader and you will participate in the preparation of dishes using good products from the market and local producers.

The village of Chouvigny is located in Auvergne, 60 km away from Clermont-Ferrand and 10 km from Ebreuil, where you can find shops. It is perfectly situated in the Gorge of Sioule, on the shore of a natural and wild-flowing river, where you might see beavers and swim! During your stay, you will enjoy the town's summery energy and the countryside nearby (hiking, visit of castles, see shows, etc.). You will meet volunteers from another international workcamp, situated in Gannat, with whom you can organize activities together.

To ensure the safety of children, your first mission will be to build a wooden fence around the pond, secured with a gate. You can also build a small wooden sorting table, for educational work with kids and the garden squares. Accompanied by two camp leaders, including a technical instructor, you will learn basic carpentry skills and how to handle tools.

You will sleep at the local site in two-person tents (boys and girls separated). You will have your meals and showers in the nearby stadium, which offers a large and quiet living space. The town of Gannat is a small town, located in Auvergne, 50 km away from Clermont-Ferrand and 20 km from Vichy. You will meet volunteers from another international work camp, situated in Chouvigny and may organize some activities together.
