After several clearing workcamps on the castle, we will continue this year to reveal the ruins, but we will also work around the abbey of St Amand to enhance the surroundings and on the paths that connect the two villages. Festivals, night markets, village festivals will be held throughout the summer and the group of volunteers will work with local volunteers to set them up. Physical work of disbursement (shovels, pickaxes, wheelbarrow) and careful excavation (trowels, brushes...) and consolidation work; trail maintenance and itinerary creation, clearing and pruning. You will have the opportunity to discover many aspects of manual work.

You will be hosted at the municipal stadium. Sleeping in tents, mattresses provided. A covered dining area is reserved for you, with a kitchen where in turns you can prepare good dishes.

Located on the edge of the Canal des Deux Mers and close to the largest forest in the department, a small town, visited by several leisure boats attracts many different people during the summertime holiday. You will have the opportunity to meet the locals, seasonal workers, experienced cyclists, sailors…
Work:
This year, the focus will be to renovate the old paper mill buildings. You will participate in the improvement of the villagers’ daily life by making communal living spaces more welcoming by cleaning them up. In addition, the numerous summer events, collective life, and local dynamic will enrich your immersion in village life.
Accommodation:
At the camping municipal in big tents provided by the town hall with access to a sanitary block and a kitchen installed within your tent. The campsite has a swimming pool, a ball field, and a volleyball court which you can use at your leisure.

Leisure activities:
During your free time, you will have the opportunity to discover the natural environment by strolling along the canals or walking through the Agre National Forest, and the architectural and cultural heritage of the region. You can also visit nearby towns like Montauban or Beaumont-de-Lomagne. You will also be asked by local associations to participate with them in organizing events (festive, culture, social…)
You will participate to save and enhance built and natural heritage (dry stone walls) on this territory, all around the Saint-Antoine Chapel, classified as a Historical Monument.
Accomodation & food:
Accommodation is in tents (2 people per tent) in a local camping. There is a bigger tent hosting the kitchen and dining tables. Volunteers will manage the tasks of daily life in teams (shopping, cooking, cleaning), toilets and showers are in a recent building on the camping site.
Location & leisure:
Pays de Murat is a community of cities located in the Cantal, a wonderfull french departement in the region of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. It is a beautiful region of medium mountains (around 1000m high), with wonderful views on the volcanoes and mounts of Auvergne. The small rural villages are full of houses with typical stone roofs and wooden/stone walls. the villages have a very rich built heritage (bread ovens, chapels, castles). This region is the perfect place to go for a hike in the mountains, by foot, by bike, for practicing canoe, swimming in the lakes, according to what the leading team and the weather can propose. The leaders will prepare games and entertainment, but you will be invited to propose and organise your own activites according to your ideas and wishes, so bring your creativity!

You will participate in the organization of the festival.
First step:
preparing the site, decoration; second step: setting up a project with the entire Concordia team to run a stand during the festival; third step: dismantling the festival. Of course you can also enjoy and participate in the activities that will be offered during the event. You will occasionally work on landscaping in the park of the estate.

The cooking and the collective life will take place in the Castle's premises. You will share the various collective tasks and prepare meals together as a group. The Domaine de la Frayse is in the Fargues St Hilaire city territory. This village, surrounded by vineyards is about 20 km away from Bordeaux and 60 km away from the Atlantic Ocean. Visits (the Pyla Dune, the city of Bordeaux) and leisure activities (bubble foot, biking) will also take place during your stay.

Bring working clothes and shoes as well as suitable clothing for rainy and cold weather. Nights can be fresh so take a good sleeping bag. Volunteers will take part in the arrangement of new plots in Aurillac's shared gardens. New huts will be built along with a wooden path leading to them. Volunteers will contribute to the shared garden's life, a real piece of heaven during the summer.

You will be painting and renovating their vegetable basket preparation room, it will have to be practical and nice for the staff. You will build wooden furniture and composting toilets. You will participate in the vegetables harvest, you will discover animal traction and make vegetable baskets for beneficiary purposes.

You will be staying in a collective accommodation in tents (2 volunteers per tent) in a football stadium with access to toilets and a bathroom in a local football club building. Meals will be taken outside; the group will be sharing the cleaning chores and preparing meals together. Montreuil-en-Touraine is a rural municipality located 15km north from Amboise, in Region Centre-Val de Loire. The territory is rich in its history with landscapes even registered at UNESCO. 2019 is the 500th anniversary of Leonardo Da Vincis death, therefore many Renaissance themed events will be organized. You will work on the renovation of a stone wall along a rioton: you will have to clean the joints and apply a new coating!In parallel, small masonry work is to be expected, some unstable stones are threatening to fall and have to be replace inside the wall in order to insure the inhabitants' safety along the rioton.

You will be accommodated in tents on a sport field in the center of the village, boys and girls separately. Don't forget to bring a warm sleeping bag. The kitchen, toilets, showers and the common living space of the group will be close to the workcamp. You will be able to find shel-ter there in case of bad weather. The volunteers will cook alternately using products pur-chased nearby. We will promote local and seasonal products as well as short supply chains. Located only one hour away from Lyon and Saint Etienne, 25 minutes from Roanne, the municipality of Regny (1200 inhabitants), served by train, is the perfect place for getting to know our region. The Mont of Forez and its verdant nature make it an ideal spot for outdoor activities (hiking, cycling, and swimming at "Lac des Sapins", picnic ...). The Auvergne and its volcanoes are also very close. It is a village full of history and the inhabitants will gladly share it with you!

For several years now the city of Clermont-Ferrand has elaborated participative projects in cooperation with the local population. Currently, the inhabitants are gathering ideas for projects you will realise during this summer and they have many ideas already: developing shared gardens, making murals using graffiti techniques, manufacturing wooden furniture or entertaining children. The project will be defined in spring and we will keep you updated.During your stay, you will be accompanied by two camp leaders recruited by Concordia. The Community Center team will welcome you and will provide you with a room where you can store your personal belongings and take your meals. Local youth will be able to participate in the work camp and show you their area.

You will be accommodated at the two-star campsite "Les Sablons" in Pont-du-Chateau (with a swimming pool and activities), sharing two-person tents, boys and girls separately, and a collective tent for socializing. The urban area of Clermont-Ferrand is Auvergne's lively regional capital. It is located in an exceptional volcanic area, at the foot of the Puy de Dôme volcano which summit can be accessed with a panoramic train. During your stay, you will be able to enjoy the town's summery energy (concerts, Sable Show festival, visiting the historic town centre, French National Day and fireworks) and the countryside which is located right on its doorstep (hiking over the volcanoes, swimming in the lakes, etc.). It will be a rich and varied trip.
