Work at the estate will be mainly manual, but you will engage in diverse activities:1) preparing exhibits for the museum (mechanic cleaning of wood and/or metal parts with sandpaper or hand grinder, impregnation with a product against woodworms and final treatment with wax or paint);2) renovation and maintenance (removing building material, demolition of minor constructions, digging, cleaning bricks, etc., you will work with a cart, a shovel and a hammer);3) organizing a summer solstice festival and NGO market on 21st June (preparing the estate for this event, helping during the festival) i this event aims at introducing local NGOs and their products to the public.Please bring old working clothes. Local volunteers might join you at the workcamp for 1-2 days.Study part: A community evening focused on tasting international cuisine will be organized. Locals will prepare some traditional Czech food for you to try. A trip to the historical city of Tabor (underground tunnels, Hussite museum, Old town) will be prepared for you too. If you are interested, it s possible to organize a workshop on old Bohemian works and habits (e.g. treatment of goose feathers, making noodles). Bring some traditional recipes from your countries.
Accomodation & food:
In the premises of the estate that are newly renovated i sleeping in two bedrooms on beds. You need to bring your own sleeping bags. A common room with kitchen, a shower and a toilet will be available. You can also use the terrace and the courtyard. You will cook meals on your own as a group; some meals will be provided by the local partner in the local school canteen.
Location & leisure:
Borotin i the area of the Baroque Manor. Borotin has 675 inhabitants. The estate is composed of 10 buildings; two of them and the terrace are already reconstructed. During the workcamp, a refreshment corner for tourists will operate and there will be many people around the estate (visitors of the castle). Near the estate, you can find a pond with a mill. In the surroundings, there are meadows and woods. The nearest town is Tabor (35 000 inhabitants) and is located a half an hour drive by bus.Leisure time: There will be many free-time options i e.g. a barbecue in a courtyard of the estate or at the ruin of the castle, playing games (badminton, archery, football etc.), having a rest on a terrace. In Borotin which is around 1.5 km away, there is a football pitch, a sports centre and a pub. You can pick mushrooms in the forest, visit a local goat farm, go for a trip to the nearby castles or visit a rope centre.

You will help to get the community centre area ready for a traditional cultural event dedicated to presentations of the local integrated rescue system units (e.g. firemen, police and ambulance), you will also prepare some activities and games for local children to be carried out during this event. You will clean up the area afterwards and help with some maintenance tasks (e.g. cutting grass, removing invasive plants) and renovation of outdoor furniture. Depending on time available, you might also engage in maintaining the hiking and cycling trails located north of the village. Bring working clothes, solid shoes and some fun ideas for activities with children.Study part: You will meet with the local community during the traditional event. You will learn more about the Czech rescue system works.

In the community centre. You will sleep on mattresses in 1 room with a carpet. Bring your own sleeping bag Several toilets and showers are available, in the community centre and the building next door. You will cook your own meals as a group in a kitchen in the centre from food supplies provided by the local partner. No alcohol or smoking is allowed inside the community centre.
Location & leisure:
Hlasnice (215 inhabitants) in the Olomouc region. It is located 20 km to the west from the city of Olomouc, at the foot of Low Jeseniky Mountains. It is possible that for 1 or 2 days you will work in one of the surrounding villages (according to their interest and needs).Leisure time: You can use sports equipment in the area of the community centre (football, volleyball, tennis), do a barbecue party, go swimming, try horse-riding, visit the nearby historical towns of Sternberk and Olomouc, go hiking to the Jeseniky Mountains and to the Sovinec Castle, etc.Note: The community house is equipped with barrier-free entrance and toilets i project is open to wheelchair users.

This workcamp is perfect for everyone who wants to volunteer in the countryside, to take a part in renovation of public space and is interested in organizing a community event. Allergies notice: pollen.
A traditional cultural event called Woodcarving will take place again in Harrachov. On Different artists will meet and create wooden sculptures. You will be engaged in organizing this event, construction of the stage and stands, moving the sculptures etc. Please be prepared that most of the work will be done in any kinds of weather so it s recommended to bring waterproof clothes and solid shoes, preferably also raincoats. For the rest of the workcamp, you will work in different public areas. The work will be manual and will not be very physically demanding. The tasks can include: cleaning and removing material, painting, gardening, transporting soil, maintaining sports grounds, working in the forest. Study part: You will have a chance to get involved in local events, visit local craftsmen, meet local sportsmen and organize an international evening.

On the first floor of a family guesthouse (three rooms, common room, kitchen, two bathrooms, outdoor fireplace). Bring your own sleeping bag. Attention, the family of the owner lives on the ground floor Volunteers will prepare their own meals as a group.
Location & leisure:
Harrachov town (about 1,600 citizens) in the north-east of the Czech Republic. The town is a border crossing to Poland. It is located in a beautiful mountain scenery of Giant Mountains.Leisure time: Hiking in the Giant Mountains, a trip by a cogwheel train on Czech-Polish border, chair lift ride to the Devil s Mountain, doing sports, visiting a music festival, excursions to the glass factory or a brewery, doing barbecue etc.
Requirements:
This workcamp is perfect for nature-lovers and everyone interested in hiking and sports. Due to living in a house with a host family you will have a unique opportunity to experience local culture and customs, at the same time we ask you for respectful behaviour. Smoking is strictly prohibited in the whole house.
