Work: On the first week, we will be working for remodeling Mulmang village, where a low-income group living together, into eco-village. On the following week, we will do a variety of activities related to Oncheon stream. Ecological education program for kids, volunteers execute campaign and cleaning and monitoring toad around stream. Location: Yeanje-gu, Busan-city/Busan train station. (3hours from Seoul by Train) Partner: Organized together with Wild Life Web(WLW) since 2008. WLW is local NGO established in 2003 to advocate for the importance of ecosystem under water. They work around Oncheon stream which located middle of Busan city. The organization wants to communicate with local citizen and share the value of environment through diverse education program. The aim of this project is to prevent our environment with activities in the middle of Busan city. This movement will be the big step for the local society to find the way of living with nature in cosmopolitan city. Requirements: Interest in eco-village and liver and amphibian. Work: Volunteers will be involved from the preparation to execution of the ¡°Cave Man Camp¡±, which is an environmental experience camp for the local children. Much of the time will be spent with the campers of the ¡°Cave Man Camp¡±. Staying out at night star-watching in the wild will be an unforgettable experience. Location: Visiting Beautiful Factory project. Camping at field. Partner: Newly Organized together with ¡°Pulgot-Nara¡±. The local host manages unique education program for people from the city. The magnificent Pulkot or wild flower surrounds the community and they offers great scenery. The main theme of this community is ¡°recover sensitivity and innocence¡±. Therefore, most of the activities in this community are known to have a calming effect. The aim of this project is assisting with the Cave Man Camp preparation and executing them. Requirements: Should enjoy being out in the nature and working with children. Accomodation and food: The guest house / Cooking by volunteers.
Work: Volunteers will be involved in various activities related to ¡®Toad Eco Park¡¯ such as holding ecological education program for local people, running campaigns, cleaning and monitoring the toads around the park. Volunteers will also help maintain the small farmland that was bought by TOADFRIEND through ¡®National Trust Movement¡¯ with the locals. Location: Trekking, Picnic with local people. Partner: This is a newly organized workcamp with TOAD FRIEND. TOAD FRIEND is local NGO established in 2004 to protect toads in the wildlife. The area that was home to the toads were redeveloped into a residential area with many apartment buildings. Although the NGO couldn¡¯t stop the area from being redeveloped, TOAD FRIEND got the permission to build a ¡°Toad Eco Park¡± in the apartment center. TOAD FRIEND has been working to emphasize the importance of toads in the ecosystem, and tries to communicate with local people in various ways. The main aim of this workcamp is to make the local community in urban area join in sharing the importance of valuing our nature through international workcamp.
