Volunteers will help local group to organize international exchange programs for local kids. During the programs, they will organize activities such as games, dances, songs and crafts.

If the weather is good, help environmental/agricultural activities needed for the community such as mowing the land, painting fences and wall, waxing the area. -Cleaning task at the lodge, drying up the futon mattress, chopping the wood to make firewood. -Making lantern for the lantern festival (August 9) -Attending tanabata festival at the local temple -Cultivating and cutting the farm-Planning for an event where 20 Japanese people get together(mainly local partner's family and relatives)

4 rooms with futon mattress, washer, restroom, bath room with bathtub, kitchen, Internet access is available. Convinience store and supermarket are 15 minutes away by car.

Volunteers cool by themselves. Food materials will be provided by the host. Sometimes volunteers go grocery together.

In 16th century, the battle called "The siege of Kozuki Castle" was held in this area. A memorial tower and ancient architectures still remains. Mr Sakagami has constructed 3 km of walking trails in cooperation with the local volunteers. He is now eager to host a musical recital for younger generations.On day-offs, activities such as trail walking and experiencing watermarking paper called KAMISUKI may be possible. You may have chance to visit HIMEGI city (1 hour by train) for sightseeing. A volunteer needs at least 10,000 JPY in cash if she wants to go sightseeing on free-day.
Requirements:
1.A volunteer has to be between 18 and 27 years old2.A volunteer is expected to be punctual and organized (Those are village rules) 3.It is important that a volunteer is confident of his/her physical strength and engaged in the manual work. 4.A volunteer who is allergic to wild animals and birds cannot be accepted5.A volunteer who has an allergy (or preference) in wheat, meat or fish can not be accepted because those are often in a Japanese meal and a group does not prepare ingredient by individual request.6.A volunteer is also expected to eat rice, miso soup, fish (sometimes raw) as well as meat (chicken, pork and beef) on a daily basis without any problem7.A motivation letter (more than 5 sentences long) is required. Please include your interest, motivation, experience and strength of yourself in English or Japanese. Bring clothing suitable for agricultural work (long sleeved), working gloves, rubber boots, hat, medicine, sun protection cream (or spray), toiletries, bath towels and sanitary goods. Insurance policy documents, Volunteers are requested to introduce their own countries by showing photos, maps, books, musical instruments and recipe, bring at least 20,000 JPY in cash for spending your personal item.
Volunteers will mainly help local people to maintain Nishiyama area such as grass cutting at parks and ruins of a castle. Also cutting bamboos to make them lantern for local festival to energize local people and the area.

Positive attitude to enjoy rural, remoted area. Open mind to respect and communicate with local people.
Volunteer's main works are (1)cutting bushes and in the school huge forests by Brush-cutter machine (2)practicing make soba (buckwheat Japanese noodles) every night and selling soba at famous art festival "Earth Celebration" during 3 days with local people, and (3) supporting the local small festival "Ogi Matsuri" as player the Japanese drums.(Vols. need to practice to play it)

Cottage in the school forest. Please bring your sleeping bag! Evreyone sleep together. Volunteers prepare the meals by themselves. Internet cannot be connected in the campsite. There is simple toilet, kitchen and shower room. Please be ready for simple forest life!
Location & leisure:
300 km northeast of Tokyo. Sado Island is famous for gold and the Japanese crested ibis. Ogi village is in the southern part beside the beach, where you can enjoy fishing and the hot spring!

Interest in nature protection & exchange with a community. Adaptability to enjoy a simple forest lifestyle, and hard physical work during day and night !
Prepare and support for local event "Awa Odori festival" with local people to activate the area. The volunteers will support the local group that organizes local boat services which many tourists make a long queue for. Volunteers will also clean up the river and roads in the city during the festival.

Local empty house in Tokushima city. Lunch and dinner will be provided by local people. Sleeing bag is necessary.

Volunteers will work in the beautiful mountains for maintaining of historical nature trail and sign board in the mountain. Volunteers will also help in traditional agriculture for local aged farmers.

Location & leisure:
Shiba village is a very beautiful village and in the center of Kyushu Island. It is located near the border with Miyazaki and Kumamoto prefectures. The historical 'Heike' legend has been handed in this village.
Requirements:
High motivation to work hard in the mountain is required. Volunteers should enjoy a simple lifestyle in the isolated area and respect to the local culture.
Volunteers will work in the forests for helping maintenance by cutting underbrush with instruction by the local Forestry Cooperative. Volunteers will also do some various work needed in the community such as cleaning activity, cutting glass in public institutions. Organizing cultural event with locals is also one of the important role of volunteers.

Volunteers will stay in a shared room of community center. Meals will be cooked by volunteers by turns. Volunteers needs to bring own sleeping bag (and mattress if they want). Volunteers need to enjoy staying in a simply basic accommodation.
Location & leisure:
Hoshino village is a small but beautiful place surrounded by mountains, about 50 km southeast of Fukuoka. It is famous for production of tea leaves named 'Hoshino-cha' and beauty of starry sky.
Requirements:
Interest in preservation of forest is required. Volunteers need to enjoy simple lifestyle!
