Angdong village consist of three new communities, Andong I, Andong II, and Andong III. The people in these communities were moved from difference slum areas in Phnom Penh capital city. Andong located in outskirt urban area but the people are unable to access to electricity, clean water, and there is no waste water system in these areas. People are using ponds as the main water resources for their daily life but hygiene is the big problem for community people health. There is grey water around ponds and wells areas in the communities and some kids play in this grey water while their parents do washing and the water from the ponds they also use for drinking as well as cooking. We believe that this project can help them to understand more about living environment and hygiene for their health. Furthermore, education is another big problem because most of people in these communities are uneducated and they are also facing problems with their living, therefore, children are not sent to school. Some children are going with their parents to work as waste pickers in city and some are staying at home to look after their younger brothers and sisters.
Through this project, we believe that we can make some positive change in raising awareness on hygiene and education for the community people and this project will not last just only for two weeks but we plan to do continuously project with these communities too. Why do we need international and local volunteers to come in these communities? Because we expected that, together, we will find the better way of living for people in these communities and bring hope, motivation, encouragement and being role model for young people to pursuit their education.

FEDA is based in Ksach Poy Village, near the city of Battambang in north-western Cambodia. Ksach Poy is a village of around 3,000 inhabitants, the majority of whom are young people. It lies on the bank of the River Sangker, about 10km south-east of Battambang.
