Camp at Ujgram, Gabtali in Bogra district (northern part of Bangladesh) and 260 km far from Dhaka City. Train and bus are main transports service for the project.
Accommodation :
In Dhaka at hotel. During Bogra at BWCA’s dormitory at Ujgram, shower moderate sanitation and electricity facilities available, no washing machine.
Work:
Taking part in motivational campaign on “Climate Change issue” through an action program of NVDA (Network for Voluntary Development in Asia) as World Tanabata Action (WTA). Aim of this action program is to increase forestry, making awareness for more plantation, more committing the people to help the environment better for future. To make a better world to be more conscious about global issue “Climate Change”. Planting trees, writing “Tanazuku Papers”, collecting signatures in favor of “Greening the World” and to make conscious the students and people from all works of life on Climate Change issue. Taking part in organizing sports and games with the students of local schools and community children through demonstrating consequences of Climate Change affects. Taking part in construction work of the VTC infrastructure. 5 ~ 6 hours work a day. As the main project of BWCA is an ongoing
Food:
Food will be provided 3 times (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) prepared by BWCA cook. Volunteers may prepare their daily food by their selves with the help of cook engaged for. Volunteers may prepared their favorite dish and recipes by their selves at any selected day for which volunteers need to bring their own ingredients and recipes before hand.
Arrival & Meeting point :
Regarding volunteers arrival we used to provide pick up service to the group and individual volunteer from the Hazrat Shah Jalal International Airport, in Dhaka on arrival according to their prior flight information. Volunteers need to arrive at the meeting point on the first day of the camp.
Volunteers will be taken to the camp site 2nd day or according to flight after arrival on the same day of the Camp schedule. A short orientation be arranged by the BWCA before starts for project. Therefore, volunteers need to arrive at the meeting point on the first day of the schedule. Accommodation in Dhaka will also be arranged by BWCA if needed.
Cost :
Participant need to pay in local currency equivalent to US$ 300/- (Three hundred US Dollar) only per volunteer / per camp on arrival. Apart from the fee we welcome any sort of contribution towards development of its – pilot model project VTC (Volunteers Training Center) if any one wish to contribute.
