The objective of this work camp is the conservation and the promotion of the cultural heritage in the village Kouma Apoti through the realisation of different socio-cultural as well as artistic activities. The main attention of the project is focused on the cultural values that the population estimates as important to preserve their identity. The other objective of the project is to help the teenagers to fil in the unknown content of their culture by discovering their cultural talents and the artistic traditions. The period of this work camp corresponds at the moments of reunions of the sons and the girls of this village for the reflection of the village development.
Task:
This work camp will be divided into 3 phase. 1. Phase: The different teams will organize themselves to collect information about: the rituals (initiation ceremonies, usage of a secret language, divination…) ; the traditional dances and the music used for ceremonies ; the oral literature (tales, historic stories, mystic stories, proverbs)… The teams will be allowed to get more explanation about the traditional practice from the ceremony’s master and will create a book for the youth of the village. 2. Phase: This is the step to sensibilize the teenagers and create a theatre play including all the information they gathered about the traditional practice. 3. Phase: The third phase includes the presentation of the theatre play and a traditional music concert where the local authorities and the local citizens will be invited.
Leisure activities:
Outside working hours, you can participate in strolls or meetings with the particularly welcoming population. You can plan evenings and excursions to visit the surrounding villages and take advantage of attractive waterfalls and mountains of the region.

The volunteers will financially be taken care of from the first day of the work camp.
Participation fees:
131 000 FCFA (about 200 Euros) to be paid on arrival The volunteers should be present in Kpalimé at the office of the association latest at 8am local time the day the work camp starts (except of flight problems). The volunteer needs to participate in training about volunteering in his or her home country. The volunteer is also asked to gather information about Africa and Togo
