Participants will also have a chance to go the city, Gaborone from Mochudi to change money, increase length of stay and other necessary logistics for staying well in Botswana.
Project:
Participation fee is US $200 per participant, which covers simple work camp meals, arrangements for the whole work camp preparation in terms of communication, electronic mailing and transport for meeting with different stakeholders.BWA organises transport for participants from the airport in Gaborone to Mochudi (BWA office) ONLY, where the orientation of participants takes place prior to departure to work camps destination.
AIRPORT PICK UP:
Participants are urged that they will ONLY be picked up from airport or Intercape bus station (to Mochudi which is 35km from the city where orientation will be conducted) upon request, otherwise the volunteer is liable for transport costs to Mochudi. This can cost up to roughly US$25. Travel expenses from BWA office after the orientation to work camp places and back are not covered in this US$200. Participants are therefore advised to spare a small amount, which is around US$50 for travelling to and from work camp place.
« I would recommend participating in a workcamp, especially with VAP, who ensured that I found a project to suit me and provided essential training for me in preparation for my trip. Being part of a workcamp really is a life-changing experience, oh, and it looks great on your CV! »
