Excavation and extraction of land to expose various sectors of the fortress; draw different stratigraphic sections and preparing files of the objects retrieved; cleaning, sifting and classifying the objects found; maintenance tasks on the forest surrounding the archeological site.

In La Morera , a rural tourism house. There are 8 duplex rooms, each one with its own bathroom. There are also two common rooms, with TV area, library, a dining room, a fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, and free Wi-Fi.

The workcamp takes place in the Turo de Montgros, an Iberian fortress located in the Montseny Natural Park. The objectives of the workcamp are to excavate and help maintaining the archeological site and at the same time to learn and appreciate the richness of the natural environment.Volunteers will have a wide range of afternoon activities, evening and night games, that aim to improve group relationships and venture into the area of human values. There will be an opportunity to visit the region and appreciate the most of its rich nature making visits to the Montseny Nature Park, and also producing articles and files of the visits that the volunteers will make.

The general objectives of the workcamp include learning the main techniques of archaeological excavation, raise theawareness about the importance of excavations, to analyze, interpret and define hypothesis concerning the prehistoryand history.During the workcamp, the volunteers will:- Excave and extract activities, exploring different sectors of Can Sadurni cave, and prepare the excavation of the mainentrance to the cave.- Participate in drawing stratigraphic sections and writing data of the pieces found, recover some heritage elements ofdry stone from the surroundings of Mas Can Sadurni.- Carry out the washing, classification and inventory related to the archaeological material (pottery, metal, animals)found during the excavation.- Start the construction of a neolithical cabin located in the outside terrace of the cave.-Contribute to the maintenance of the surroundings and different access of the cave.

The participants will have the opportunity to discover the beautiful region of Garraf. Volunteers will have a wide range of afternoon activities, eveningand night games, that aim to improve group relationships andventure into the area of human values. There will be an opportunityto visit the region and appreciate the most of its rich culture:overnight excursion to Garraf Natural Park, Trip to Barcelona(one-day visit), theatre play open to the entire population ofBegues (the last evening the play will be done to represent thehistorical aspects of the cave from the findings), farewell partywith technical team and mayors, rehearsal with castellers (oneof the tipical traditions in Catalonia). Furthermore the camp willtake place at the same time as Begues festivities, so the volunteerswill actively participate doing a workshop with the drummers ofthe village.

This year we celebrate the XXII I edition of this workcamp. The technical work will be done every day from Monday to Friday during morningsand it will be focused on the following main aspects: cleaning the excavation area, archaeological excavation and cleaning and signing of the archaeological materials found during the workcamp.There will be also some complementary activities to achieve the contextualization of the site both geographically and chronologically. The purpose of these activities is to acquire new basic knowledge about archaeology and history. The activities will be related to archaeology and medieval age: conferences, workshops etc-
Accomodation & food:
During the week the accommodation will take place in the castle, in a room with bunkbeds. Portable WC and showers (no hot water), a dining room tent, and a kitchen will beinstalled outside the castle.On the weekends, accommodation is located in a space provided by the municipality. It is in a municipal sports center, without beds, so the participants have to bring sleeping bags and sleeping paths.

Camp leaders propose leisure activities in the afternoons and evenings and they are always open to volunteer s proposals to different and new activities. Activities can be relaxing, roleplaying, guidance, workshops, history, cultural exchange, gastronomy, astronomy, etc.Two trips are planned: One to the village of Breda and another to Tossa.

The will be divided in three parts:Surveying and mapping the sites using a GPS, maps, and other instruments. Archaeological work.Working on videos and pictures exhibition: the participants will take some pictures and materials from the site to prepare an exhibition for the villagers. They will also create a video to show their workcamp experience.The volunteers will prepare some activities for the kids that are doing a summer camp at Peramola. One of the activities will be to record and perform tales in English from the different countries. This material will be used for future activities

In the town of Peramola there are about 15 prehistoric sites and it s important to reclaim the prehistoric archaeological heritage. The village of Peramola has a population of 300 inhabitants. An international project involving young people can be very positive, both to the participants (to experience living in rural areas) and to local people (to interact with youth from all around the world).Different activities will be suggested for the afternoons andweekends, all of them focused on discovering the countryand the specific location of the workcamp:Itinerary to Pedro dels Quatre Batlles, Visit to Barcelonaexchange with local associations, Participation in the populardinner, exchange activity with people from different generations

The workcamp takes place in Vilamitjana, a small village located 4 km from Tremp. The objectives of the camp are to do a research and to promote campaigns in the geological sites, and to protect the natural environment surrounding the Noguera Pallaressa river.

Work:
Collaborate with the excavation in the paleontological site (Nerets) classifying and cleaning the materials found; maintenance and sign posting work in the mineral site (Fígols and Tremp), maintenance of the lookout of Puigcercòs geological site (task to do in one day), working in the St Bartomeu chapel.
Accommodation:
In Vilamitjana, 4 km from Tremp, in a classroom with common showers and bathrooms. Matresses are provided. There will be also two big tents to use as a dinning room.
Free time activities:
Volunteers will have a wide range of a1ernoon activities, evening and night games that aim to improve group relationships and venture into the area of human values.
There will be different activities to discover the cultural and Catalan reality of the region:
two days excursion sleeping outdoors, one day excursion to the capital of the region, Lleida, a canoeing activity and a visit to a cave.

This project is the result of years of collaboration between Fundació Escolta Josep Carol and Alcarràs council and aims to promote the cultural heritage and civic participation. The old paths are part of the cultural heritage which needs to be revalued and preserved. In one of the old paths there is a flour mill of XII century. Over time this mill has been damaged, it is full of vegetation and the only way to get there is through these old paths that need signposting. This workcamp aims to create paths and to restore the vegetal environment to promote the cultural heritage of Alcarras.
Work:
The technical work of this workcamp will be focused on recovering the cultural heritage. The volunteers will work on the agricultural roads, creating routes and signalization to arrive to the mill and the bridge. They will work on the preservation of the mill cleaning the vegetation area and improving its access, excavate the interior part of the mill, classify the architectonical pieces found and learn techniques of architectural drawing. The participants will be involved in the promotion of the historic memory of the village and its population.
Accommodation:
Espai Social Les Roquetes” used to be a retirement home. It has 9 rooms with bunk beds, each room has its own bathroom. The house has two big rooms to use as dining room, or as activities room. There is also an equipped kitchen.
Free time activities:
The activities will be related to the technical work and to get to know the surroundings (discovering Alcarràs and its surroundings, meeting with the local villagers, agrarian workshops…). There will be also leisure time activities, where volunteers will learn different games & workshops in order to promote group cohesion and motivation. Every night there will be activities related with different scouts’ values (respect, solidarity, interculturality) as organizers are related to a catalan scouts association in Catalonia. There will be a weekend excursion to the “Mina” swamp.
Remarks:

The technical work will consist on: cleaning vegetation in order to delimit the workingarea, excavation of a part of the site to continue with the work done until the moment,study of the materials found, learning how to interpret the work that is being done, toleave the area ready for visitors and for its preservation.

In a multi-purpose room using sleeping paths and sleeping bags. The living conditions aresimple. As a dining room there will be big tent enabled outdoors. Three portable showersand three portable bathrooms will be provided.

The Sanctuary of Mare de deu dels Tossals, was built on modern age, on the ruins of acastle. It is known because documented references have been found. The workcamp aimsto determinate the existence, location and boundaries of the Capolat Castle.Various activities will be held to promote the knowledge anddiscovery of the rural area. Excursions, visits and meetingswith different people from the village that represent thetypical daily life on that area.

The technical work of the project The castle and the chapel of St. Iscle consists on full archaeologicalexcavation, its restoration and rehabilitation and its subsequent management andpublic dissemination; recovery from the daily work of the various rooms and items that makeup the fortress castle of St. Iscle, to later make possible its restoration. Participants will beprovided with the necessary tools and our archaeologists will explain the basic techniquesabout restoration of the ruins. The technical work will be done during mornings from Mondayto Sunday.

At the Salvador Espriu School. The accommodation is held in the gym floor that will beequipped with mattresses and cabinets for all participants. Sleeping bags are needed. Toiletsand showers will be the ones of the school and the swimming pool of the municipality isjust in front of the Salvador Espriu School. The living facilities will be in the same school.Meals will be held at the school canteen.

St. Iscle Castle is situated in Vidreres, a town of the XII century. The castle is an historical patrimonyof big importance in Catalonia that for many years was degraded and abandoned.Many activities in the village (gymkhanas, film forum, visits tothe seminal market-), interaction with the villagers. Culturalexcursions (Girona, Barcelona, Lloret de Mar and CostaBrava).
