Volunteers will restore two rooms of Villa Bona, a wonderful historical villa of the 18th century surrounded by a big park, situated in Carignano. The restoration work will involve: the decoration of the walls, doors and windows; removal of boxes; cleaning of the marble staircase and the wrought iron railings; restoration of the dark wooden paintings. All these activities will be under the guidance of a professional conservator. The restoration of Villa Bona is being finalized to use the villa for public events by the committee and local organizations.
Accomodation & food:
In a building with beds, communal bathrooms with showers and hot water and a kitchen. Bedrooms are provided with 2 to 5 beds per room. The volunteers are responsible for the cleaning and cooking. The organisation covers the cost of the meals and also the materials for the work. Volunteers must be equipped with a sleeping bag (or sheets), pillowcase and towels.
Location & leisure:
The town of Carignano (8700 inhabitants) is situated on the left bank of the river Po approximately 20 Km from Torino and within the Regional Parco Fluviale (park of the river). Its centre is of typical piemontese style, characterized by an ancient core with medieval archways and a baroque cathedral. The towns surroundings offer sites of architectural and naturalistic interest, it is also possible to reach Torino easily, as there are frequent coaches to the city. During the free time there are many exciting things to do such as visit the open market of Carignano. On the weekends it will be possible for the group to organise a visit to Turin (there is a bus to and from Turin), visiting the Egyptian museum, the cinema museum, MAO museum of oriental art, the Holy Shroud etc.
Requirements:
A project-related motivation letter is required. No specific experience is required for the project.
Volunteers will support the teachers and the parents of the pupils in the manual work needed before the start of the school year: painting the classrooms, the desks and the chairs, clean the garden, arrange the play area for kids, repair desks, etc.

The school is in the centre of Palermo, so the volunteers will be able to join social and cultural life of the city
The workcamp has two goals - spread the discussion on fair trade-related topics and help the festival's organizers. International volunteers will make up a bigger team of volunteers. Workcamp schedule can be roughly split in two parts: the first (about 3 days) in which the volunteers will be introduced to the Fair Trade world, and the second (the last 4 days, coinciding with the fair) where you ll put theory in practice helping set up, run and take down the Tuttaunaltracosa Festival. During the first part we are also going to develop some topics related to globalization and North-South relationship by using role play games and non formal education methodology. During the Festival Tuttaunaltracosa the volunteers are going to play a key role in the fair by supporting all fair trade shops with their stands, visitors assisting and welcoming, helping stands management, translating press articles in English, updating social media of the workcamp and organizing flashmob in the city. During the fair, the volunteers will also have an opportunity to follow debates and workshops on responsible tourism, ethic finance etc.
Accomodation & food:
Volunteers will be hosted in the youth hostel of Ferrara with shared rooms and common bathrooms. A fully equipped kitchen is available. The volunteers will cook and clean as a team. You must bring a sleeping bag.

Ferrara, City of the Renaissance, and its Po Delta, situated within the Emilia Romagna region of Italy, is a remarkable cultural landscape added to UNESCO World Heritage List in 1999. The historical centre is famous for its well-preserved monuments and historical buildings such as The Castle Estense, The City Hall, Cathedral of San Giorgio etc. However Ferrara is also a very modern city with lots of students, young people and... bicycles Yes, the number of bikes here is higher than in Bologna and even in Amsterdam
