The workcamp consists in the rehabilitation of a part of the rampart between the towers number 8 and 10. You will maintain vegetation around the towers, weed plants and herbs, carefully list the stones, reconstruct and solidificate the identified parts of the fortification!

Come and discover the medieval city of Domfront-en-Poiraie, located in the heart of a region with plenty of remarkable heritage, in the department of Orne. It’s an ideal construction site for history lovers! Its castle and its history are characteristic for the city of Domfront-en-Poiraie. Around the intricated alleys of the upper city, the medieval past of the city is omnipresent: courtyards, half-timbered houses, towers, walls; all within easy reach.
You will also have an opportunity to discover Norman culture:
culinary specialities, hiking, discovery of the forests and Norman bocage as well as a warm welcome from the inhabitants. From Domfront, the region of Orne is open to you! The first weekend of the construction site will allow you to go back in time, back to the Middle Ages. Indeed, on August 3 and 4, the "Les Médiévales" Festival will take place: medieval market, knights' contests, musicians' strolls in the streets, shows, visit of the castle...
Work:
During this first year of our cooperation with the City, you will participate in the interior renovation of the daycare centre for children living in the delegated commune of Haute-Chapelle (commune of Domfront en Poiraie) under the supervision of your camp leaders and a municipal employee.

Let’s go on an adventure! You are going to sleep in tents, by 2 or 3 (bring your mattress and your sleeping bag), in the municipal campsite with toilets and bathroom in a building. The cooking and living spaces will be in a large tent. The group will be sharing the cleaning chores and preparing meals together. The budget will be allocated to the group leader and you will participate in the preparation of dishes with good products from the market and local producers.

Domfront-en-Poiraie is located in the South of Normandy and in the Est of Orne Departement. Meetings with the inhabitants will be organised, in particular through the organisation of an international meal and various other activities. Please bring gardening gloves, good shoes and working clothes. As nights can be quite cold, remember also to bring warm clothes. Don’t forget to bring a sleeping-mat, a warm sleeping bag (and a tent if you have one!). Don’t hesitate to bring specialities from your home country such as photos, games, music instruments, etc. Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues happen on the project, volunteers will have to pay for it, and will then be reimbursed once back in their home country.

Participate to St-A-R-S' village dynamism and dailylife, give a new life to a local footpath in the charming forest "Le Bois des Fourches" by cleaning it and creating signingss about fauna and flora in order to enable friendly, familial and pedagological hikings in the forest. Your mission will be : cleaning the path by removing branches and some stones, cleaning the foopath' signings, creating fauna and flora informations, maybe also some landart... You will also meat local people and help organising the friendly patronal fest : a friendly village celebration taking place at the end of the workcamp, a good moment to present your work, you will be part of this celebration! Finally, you will immerse yourself in the local life and meet the tourists.

Accommodation is under tents (2 per tent) on the town stadium. Volunteers are in charge of daily life tasks, in teams (shopping, cooking, cleaning). Don't forget to bring recepies from your contry to share with other volunteers! The kitchen, showers and bathroom are in a building nearby.

Saint-Amant-Roche-Savine (St-A-R-S) is located in the Regional Nature Parc of the Livradois-Forez, 12km from Ambert town (famous for the gastronomy, and its cheese!) in the French department of the Puy-de-Dome, region Auvergne-Rhones-Alpes. It's a medium mountain zone, with a rich fauna and flora, numerous waterways, cultural heritage, offering magnificent panoramas of "Forez Mounts". You will discover the surroundings through hiking, activities, and contacts with local population during the village's celebration preparation.

To ensure the safety of children, your first mission will be to build a wooden fence around the pond, secured with a gate. You can also build a small wooden sorting table, for educational work with kids and the garden squares. Accompanied by two camp leaders, including a technical instructor, you will learn basic carpentry skills and how to handle tools.

You will transform two old telephone booths into book cabins: painting them from the outside, deciding how to organize them inside, installing shelves, making painting and decorations. You can also think about the modification of the exterior parts of the cabins. Along with a technical leader, you will learn basic carpentry skills and how to handle tools.

You will be accommodated in a municipal guest-house in the center of the village, which will be reserved only for you. The objective of this workcamp is to assist the volunteers of the association in doing the maintainance work and the organisation of the refuge: assist in setting up a tunnel in order to protect the troughes; help in strengthening the fences around the meadow; clear the place. Your group and your energy will considerably relieve them and encourage them to pursue their work. Local volunteers will be eager to share their passion for horses with you! You may also take part into the daily tasks of the refuge: feed and take care of the horses.

La Roche Blanche is a municipality of three thousand five hundred (3500) inhabitants located in the south of Clermont-Ferrand in the department of Puy-de-Dôme. The shelter is located around the plateau of Gergovie, a place that witnessed the historical battle between the Roman emperor Julius Cesar and the Gallic chief warrior Vercingetorix. You may also enjoy the landscape and the nature and embark on a voyage of history, french cuisine(welcome to Auvergne: the land of cheese!) and local heritage(archeological site, regional architecture.)

This project's aims is to help the organisation for the donkey's protection tasks: enclose the meadow around Ambert (place stakes, wire-fences) and build winter stables (salvage wood pallet, build enclosures and fences). Added to all these manual works, you take part in the organisation's life and meet local volunteers!
Accomodation & food:
The accomodation will be in the charming organisation's wood and stone farm surrounded by Ambert's nature. The farm is located at 4km from the city center. The farm is not equiped with beds. We will prvide floor mats; you can also bring inflatable mattresse, Don't forget your sleeping bags! Two showers, restrooms and a kitchen are available on the spot. Daily life is managed by the volunteers (meal preparation, errand/shopping and cleaning).

Ambert is located in the Régional Natural park of Livradois-Forez in the area of Puy-de-Dôme Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. City is known for its gastronomy and its cheese: la Fourme d'Ambert. It's an area of medium mountains, with a very extended fauna and flora, several waterways, a rich cultural heritage and craftspeople using the region's typical savoir-faire that you would discover while (beautifuls) rambling, walks, hustle and bustle/ activities and locals meetings.
